NDLOVU MOITSHEPI & CO. is a partnership of attorneys David Matthews Ndlovu and Jones Aone Moitshepi (both Botswana citizens). Although the formal partnership came into existence in July, 2015 the partners share an extensive professional relationship and history, both having commenced their study of law in 2004 at the University of Botswana and graduated in October, 2009. More interestingly the partners were both admitted to practice law by the High Court of Botswana on the same day, that is, on the 9thNovember, 2009 when both were then employed by the same law firm shortly after their graduation. They are accordingly both commencing their 7th year of legal practice in November, 2015.
After their admission as aforesaid the partners practised in the same firm, a sole proprietorship, for one and a half years, during which time they worked closely and forged a professional relationship which, unbeknown to them at the time, would result in the partnership the subject of this Profile. It was during these early days of legal practice that the now partners discovered their shared passion for the law, especially litigation.
In January 2011 David joined a different law firm, at which he was still practising at the time of formation of this partnership. Later that year, in early May, Jones also moved from his initial employer to join another law firm, at which he similarly was still practising at the time of formation of this partnership. Despite their employment by two different firms the now partners maintained a close professional relationship characterised by constant sharing of opinions on legal issues germane not only to cases they were individually handling but to the general prevailing legal environment. So evolving was the said professional relationship that they would once in a while recommend and refer to one another clients in respect of whose cases one could not handle due to, for instance, conflict of interest issues.
The brief individual histories of the partners are fairly elaborated below. In this introductory part of the profile it suffices to say that this herein discussed partnership in fact pre-dates its formalization, common virtues and ideals, such as trust, values, visions and aspirations having been established and ascertained in the now partners’ extensive association and discussions over the years.
